Technically We Launched
In my last post, which I might remind you was October 1st, 2024, I made the bold prediction that I would launch my new idea on October 4th, 2024. Well… That kinda happened. Actually not really. I did get the site up and running, as you can see here, but that was it. It was more of a failure to launch or premature launch, but definitly not a full launch. That all sounds so bad.
Life Happened
There really isn’t any excuse for what happened, besides life. And when I say life, that literally what it was. I had so many life events during the last three weeks, I simply had to priortize what it was most important. Let me break down what I had going.
-
Work Stuff - October is the start of the 4th quarter. Since I’m in sales at my full time job, it’s the final push to make my sales goals. I’m sitting pretty good for the year, but I’ve had a ton of activity. Part of this was traveling, which obviously takes me away from my side gig. October is going to be busy, but that’s no excuse. I can find time if I want to, and I want to.
-
Kid Stuff - The town I live in was having a Halloween Costume Bash. This was a perfect family event so that the family could go to the park and experience a haunted woods walk. This mean running around to get costume items and generally preparing for a few days of kids parties. Did it take 100% of my time… No, but it was a distraction and from October 10th thru October 14th I didn’t do anything but spend time with my family.

Buying Property - Yup, instead of generating revenue I’m spending more money than I ever have in my life to aquire property that sits right next to me. To fill you in, a year ago we moved to Texas from California and bough a home on 4 acres. Being from California, it initially feels like you own so much land you’ll never be able to maintain it. After one year, you start to realize that it’s really not that much land. So, the lot next to us, which was 8 acres came available and we negotiated to buy it. This gives us 12 acres and allows us to lower our property tax significantly. Here in Texas we can homestead and get an agriculture exemption, which drastically lowers our property taxes. Believe it or not, this took a ton of time. Dealing with banks, real estate agents and buyers took much more time that I expected. Plus it was emotionally draining. But it’s done. The property is ours!
-
Other Distractions - Then there comes the other things that grabbed my attention and kept me from giving my new adventure the attention it needs. I do have my own consultancy and I have some high profile customers that asked for some of my time. I’ve known these customers for decades and I can’t disappoint them. This cost me about 30 hours over the last few weeks.
Back To Work
With all of that out of the way, I’m determined to get back on track. Most of the hard work has been done. Now it’s time to execute.
what is done
- I have a working site up and running
- I have a payment gateway setup and working in test mode.
- I have started a marketing plan which I’ll be launching on Instagram to start
- I have content created that needs to be posted
what needs to get done
- Update payment links to put them into production and not development
- Post content to site
- Post content to social media
- Create Ads
Updates Coming
One of my commitments is to continue to update this site. Let’s see if I can keep that going for at a week. The other thing I realize I need to do is create more ways to contact me. The comment section actually kinda stinks because it’s github based, which is largely going to be only for techies. Sorry about that, bad decision on my part.
I’ll fix the commenting, add a bit more to the contact page, and finally launch that twitter account, oh X, that’s what it’s called now.
Back to work I go.
